Moonwalker the Band
MOONWALKER, the highly acclaimed tribute to Michael Jackson, as portrayed by lead vocalist Trace Devai, pays homage to the life, music and incredible showmanship of the beloved Icon.
Trace’s body line, mannerisms and dance artistry, precisely capture Michael’s style and grace with an edge that flows freely from within. The illusion is beyond mimicry.
As Trace comes on stage before he even sings a note, the audience is spellbound.....and then he sings and the magic is complete. This is more than a tribute. This is a phenomenon.
Trace Devai
Lead Singer
Born and raised in Los Angeles Trace began professional dancing and singing at the age of 12. After a stint on the Tim Conway Show for CBS, Trace and pal Lenny Kravitz formed the teen rock group WAVE (as seen on “Lenny Kravitz behind the Music” for mVH1). When Kenny’s people got the call for a multi-talented performer Trace was summoned to work with legendary shock rocker Alice Cooper on two consecutive world tours. On tour with Cooper, Trace worked with illusionist Franz Harary who also did illusions for Michael Jackson. “We were invited to Neverland in 1990 during a hiatus of Michael’s “Bad Tour” states Trace. “I danced in a performance with Franz for Michael and met him afterwards." Michael ask me, “Are you a singer? “I was surprised by the comment,” notes Trace “because I was only dancing in the performance.” I said “Yes, I’m a singer.” -“I like your aura, you have the aura of a singer.” Michael said. After 2 years performing in Paris one year in Miami working with Lenny Kravitz Trace returned to Los Angeles to form his solo project. Since it’s inception the Trace Devai Band has won numerous Los Angeles rock music awards including “Outstanding Front Person,” “Outstanding Alternative Band,” Best Hollywood Rock Band” and the infamous award for the “Sexiest Front Person.”
