About Cedric The Entertainer
Cedric made his 1992 television debut on It’s Showtime at the Apollo, and has appeared on The Tonight Show, The Chris Rock Show, Politically Incorrect, Hollywood Squares, HBO’s Def Comedy Jam and BET’s Comic View, which he hosted during the 1994-95 season. In 1994, he received the RICHARD PRYOR COMIC OF THE YEAR AWARD from Black Entertainment Television. Currently, he is developing his own series for The Fox Television Network. Cedric’s national comedy tour, The Bud Light Cedric “The Entertainer” Comedy Revue kicked-off in May 2001 and ended August 4th in New York to a sold out crowd at Madison Square Garden. As host of that tour, Cedric put the spotlight on new talent giving young comics the national exposure they needed to build their careers. More recently, you have seen him star in movies such as “Barbershop” (w/ Ice Cube), “Be Cool” (w/ John Travolta), “Madagascar” (animated feature), “Intolerable Cruelty” (w/ George Clooney), “The Original Kings of Comedy” (MTV documentary directed by Spike Lee), “Charlotte’s Web” (animated feature), and he also starred in & produced the box office hit “Johnson Family Vacation” (ranked #1 comedy in America for 2 straight weeks)
